Submission Rules
All Entries must be original works by the author and never published in any format.
Length of story: Minimum 1,500 to a Max 3,000 words. Each story must be submitted in a word document only. No PDF’s will be accepted.
A person may enter more than one story. A single author must pay for each story entered. No discounts for multiple stories submitted.
If less then five entries for a genre are received, the entries will be combined into a 'general' category for competition.
By submitting my story into the Texas Short Story contest, I hereby give permission for Texas Authors, Inc., to reproduce the story in a book to be sold and used to promote Texas authors.
By receiving the awards given by the sponsors, I hereby give up all rights to any funds from any sales in which my story has been included, for the life time that the book(s) are in print.
I further agree to allow Texas Authors, Inc. or eBook Galore to use all or portions of my story for marketing purposes and promotion of the contest, including marketing and promotions of the book sold and distributed that includes my story.
I further agree to not republish or distribute my story in any form until June 1, 2019.
I further agree that I will own all copyrights of the story submitted, excluding the above paragraphs.
I understand that all awards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or altered in any way. It is further understood that each award given has an expiration date of six months from the date of issuance.
